Job Summary

Job Title: CT Tech

Site: Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC) - Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS)
Exact Location: US Highway 491 North Shiprock NM 87420
Duration: 6-month contract with the possibility of 3 six-month extensions
Shift Schedule:
  • Primary Day Shift: Monday Friday 07:00AM 3:30PM
  • On-Call/Surge: Evenings weekends & holidays (2-hour response required); surge coverage as needed
How Many Shifts Needed Per Month:
  • Approximately 20 primary day shifts per technologist per month (Mon Fri coverage)
  • On-call rotation coverage for evenings weekends and holidays - rotation schedule to be determined by Contractor
  • Total contract capacity: 4160 hours per period across 4 technologists (173 hours/technologist/month)
Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 to 8 weeks
License:
  • New Mexico state licensure required (or eligibility to obtain NM licensure)
  • Candidates currently licensed in other states may qualify pending receipt of NM licensure prior to first shift
  • License must be current valid and unrestricted
Certifications:
  • ARRT registration in Radiography (R) - current valid unrestricted (required)
  • ARRT registration in Computed Tomography (CT) - current valid unrestricted (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - current (required)
  • Site Lead Only (1 of 4 positions): Minimum 10 years hospital-based diagnostic imaging experience demonstrated supervisory/lead technologist experience
Education:
  • Associates degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or a related field (consistent with ARRT eligibility requirements)
  • Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited radiologic technology program (or equivalent ARRT-recognized program)
Experience Needed:
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical DRT-CT experience within the last 5 years across trauma ICU surgical ED and general inpatient/outpatient populations
  • Site Lead: Minimum 10 years of hospital-based diagnostic imaging experience
Special Skills Needed:
  • CT scanning and plain film radiography across complex patient mix (trauma ICU ED surgical)
  • Intraoperative and fluoroscopic imaging support
  • EHR proficiency (IHS system training provided)
  • Radiation safety infection control compliance
  • Ability to work independently in a high-volume rural hospital setting
  • Level 4 Trauma imaging protocol familiarity (preferred)
Responsibilities:
  • Perform CT scanning and plain film radiography for inpatient outpatient ED ICU and surgical patients
  • Support emergency trauma intraoperative and fluoroscopic imaging as needed
  • Consult with radiologists and clinical staff on imaging protocols and patient care
  • Complete all clinical documentation in the IHS EHR prior to end of each shift
  • Adhere to all radiation safety infection control and QA standards
  • Maintain current licensure certifications and immunizations throughout contract
  • Wear Government-issued ID badge at all times
  • Complete facility closeout procedures at end of each assignment
  • (Site Lead only) Oversee scheduling credentialing compliance and personnel performance; report issues to COR
Misc:
  • Facility: 60-bed inpatient hospital 40000 ED visits/year 1400 surgical cases/year 60000 imaging studies/year
  • HSPD-12 Security Clearance required - fingerprinting and background investigation must be initiated by Contractor in advance; favorable FBI fingerprint check minimum to begin work
  • Immunizations required: MMR Hepatitis B (or signed declination) Varicella Td (within 5 years) TB PPD (within 12 months) current Influenza vaccine
  • No history of license revocation suspension or restriction; no history of DUI sexual misconduct or illegal drug use (per IHS credentialing SOP)
