Job Summary
GENERAL DUTIES
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests; invoices or orders to verify accuracy.
- Record shipment data such as weigh charges space availability damages or discrepancies for reporting accounting or recordkeeping purposes.
- Prepare documents such as work orders bills of lading or shipping orders to route materials.
- Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems such as damages shortages or nonconformance to specifications.
- Pack seal label or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping using hand tools power tools or postage meter.
- Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
- Deliver or route materials to departments using cart pallet jack dolly and or forklift.
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
- Determine shipping methods routes or rates for materials to be shipped.
- Compute amounts such as space available shipping storage or demurrage charges using computer or price list.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED.
- Fed-Ex or experience.
- 1-2 years of related experience in a shipping and receiving department.
- Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data.
- Basic math and recording abilities.
- Great communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Forklift experience.
- MUST PASS a Pre-Employment Drug Screen and Background/Credit check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to stand walk and lift for up to 8 hours daily.
- Vision abilities requires close distance color peripheral and depth
- Required to lift push pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs. continually.
- May be required to stoop bend kneel crouch or crawl.
- Moderately loud noise levels in plant environment.
