Job Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position supports the Planning and Quality departments through the preparation and distribution of shipping documents for hardware as required by customer PO and specification. This position maintains all part specific documents associated with hardware in process of manufacturing outside processing and testing. This position generates shipping documents utilizing various computer software programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Generates shipping documents for outgoing hardware
  2. Understands and follows Export Compliance requirements for international shipments.
  3. Maintains and files part specific documents related to WIP as well as outside testing documents
  4. Maintains outside testing database and serves as focal point for communication with outside testing suppliers
  5. Assists in shipping and source package preparation to customer source personnel for end item hardware and OSP shipments
  6. Using various computer programs generates shipping documents and records for hardware (i.e. barcode and specific customer web site documents)
  7. General Receiving of finished goods and OSP services
  8. Assists management in cost improvement projects associated with focus area
  9. Complete check understand and verify that all necessary paperwork is correct and complete
  10. Verify that contents of all deliveries and shipments are complete per shipping and inspection documents and are delivered to proper departments
  11. Mark identifications on all parts per work instructions; Dot Peen Ink Electro Etch Vibropeen or Bag & Tag
  12. Package castings per customer requirements to prevent damage. Use appropriate packaging materials and determine best packing methods.
  13. Pull ship and store all testing materials at essential times
  14. Stage and warehouse orders awaiting shipment; organize shipping area; operate forklift to move parts
  15. Notify carriers for shipping pickups; arrange for rush shipments and special shipping arrangements when needed
  16. Ship parts to vendors as requested; mail items via UPS/FEDX as requested completing all necessary paperwork
  17. Load and unload trailers; stock materials and supplies for shipping and marking parts
  18. Performs other related duties as assigned by management

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Knowledge of and demonstrated skills in using computer software including MS Word Access Visibility and Excel
  2. Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously
  3. Strong organizational skills with ability to work with limited supervision
  4. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
  5. Must possess good interpersonal skills
  6. Familiarity with specific customer quality requirements
  7. Ability to complete Forklift Safety Certification Training.
  8. Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner; adhere to safety rules.
  9. Ability to read and understand customer P.O.s
  10. Ability to generate specific customer documents from various websites
  11. Ability to work weekends as needed to support end of fiscal month and quarter sales goals

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent and an AA degree in Computer Science; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to read reports and use computer. Ability to communicate with co-workers and customers . Ability to write type use telephone system and operate office machines. Ability to climb stairs stoop and reach to access department materials. Ability to exert up to thirty five pounds of force to move objects.
