Position Summary:

The Shipping Technician II is a dedicated and reliable individual delegated to a highly dynamic and fast-paced team assigned to Goods-Out shipping in support of multiple production streams at our Petaluma site as well as offering occasional collaborative support in handling relevant operations in our Novato site. This role will also support continuous improvement tasks to address and further develop the growing needs of the companys supply chain management and organization therein as guided by ISO Goods Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Goods Distribution Practices (GDP) and international air shipping standards.

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily:

Areas of Responsibility:

While guidance would come from management the Shipping Technician II would primarily work independently focusing on tasks involving Biosearchs warehouse processes organization and inventory managements therein.

Essential Functions:

  • Support demands in both Petaluma and Novato sites as necessary.
  • Work within a Goods Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Goods Distribution Practices (GDP) environments supporting guidelines to uphold GMP and ISO 13485 standards as required.
  • Support solution designs pertaining to the Shipping processes and process flows supporting import & export functionalities.
  • Support maintenance of Shipping room consumable inventories and ordering requests adhering to Lean and FIFO inventory management practices.
  • Support metric tracking systems and performing regular analyses thereof.
  • Support robust cycle counting functionalities of finished goods stored in Shipping offices.
  • Work daily with cross-functional teams including Customer Service Inventory Planning Production Material Handling and Operations.
  • Support Quality Control and Assurance in the release of inbound materials
  • Ensures that relevant equipment is utilized and maintained in the most efficient manner.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with both internal & external customers.
  • Support the safe clean and efficient operation of the Shipping office areas to meet 5S and OSHA standards.
  • Support the safe and efficient operation of Dangerous Goods shipping to meet service and OSHA IATA DOT and on-site EHS standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Travel Requirements occasional travel between Petaluma & Novato sites with mileage expensed.
  • Schedule/Core Hours Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm with potential for added hours as the workload requires.  Overtime pay is included.
  • Adherence to company Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policy
  • Heavy use of ERP MES and desktop work.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 years of shipping experience to include familiarity of common couriers export compliance and filing and supporting documentation
  • HS degree or equivalent
  • Regular use of Microsoft Excel Outlook Word
  • Use of a web browser.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Flexibility to changing operating conditions
  • Ability to influence performance and team development
  • Prioritization and delegation of daily/weekly tasks
  • Daily use of computers in an ERP setting
  • Solid knowledge of data analysis inventory management software and forecasting techniques
  • Enthusiastic team player with exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
  • Able to work independently self-starter
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Able to lift 40lbs.
  • Kanban familiarity
  • HAZWOPER certification a bonus
  • Forklift familiarity recommended certification a bonus
  • Warehouse environments experience a bonus
  • ERP system familiarity; FMP and/or IFS a strong plus
  • Shipping experience preferred export experience a bonus

The typical pay range for this role for both Material Handling Tech I/II is:

Minimum: $ 22.000/Hourly

Maximum: $ 37.0912/ Hourly

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for the California -based position.  The actual base salary will depend on several factors such as: experience skills and location.
