Shipping Technician

Job Summary

ACT Aerospace is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Technician to join our logistics team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all outgoing orders are processed packed and shipped accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail proficiency in using shipping software and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

*Order Fulfillment & Packing:

• Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves based on packing slips and digital orders.
• Inspect all items for quality and damage before packing to ensure 100% order accuracy.
• Select appropriate packaging materials (boxes bubble wrap dunnage) to prevent damage during transit.
• Securely pack items according to company standards and shipping regulations.

*Documentation & Logistics:

• Generate accurate shipping labels using Insert Software e.g. FedEx ShipManager UPS WorldShip or SAP.
• Prepare all necessary shipping documentation including packing slips commercial invoices and BOLs (Bills of Lading).
• Update the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP to reflect completed shipments and adjusted inventory levels.
• Coordinate with freight carriers and drivers for timely pickups.

*Inventory & Maintenance:

• Assist in regular cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy.
• Monitor shipping supply levels (tape boxes pallets) and notify supervisors when reordering is needed.
• Maintain a clean organized and safe workstation and loading dock area.
• Adhere to all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Insert Number e.g. 12 years of experience in shipping receiving or warehouse operations.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with handheld scanners (RF scanners) and basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel/Outlook). Experience with Insert Specific ERP/WMS software is a plus.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to verify part numbers quantities and addresses without error.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic calculations for weight dimensions and unit counts.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy machinery such as forklifts or electric pallet jacks (Certification preferred).
• Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs documentation.
• Previous experience in Insert Industry e.g. Medical Device/Automotive/E-commerce logistics.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to Insert Weight e.g. 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment that may be subject to temperature fluctuations.
• Ability to bend reach squat and stand for the duration of an 812 hour shift.
