Shipping Specialist
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrier Coordination: Schedule book and route outgoing shipments using UPS FedEx and various Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) motor freight carriers.
- Portal Management: Input update and monitor real-time tracking data and shipment status through the My Courier tracking portal.
- Documentation: Generate accurate shipping labels packing slips commercial invoices and Bills of Lading (BOL).
- Order Preparation: Safely pick pack weigh and palletize industrial or commercial products according to carrier guidelines and safety standards.
- Problem Resolution: Track delayed or lost shipments through carrier networks and resolve delivery discrepancies proactively.
- Inventory Control: Maintain stock of shipping supplies and log completed orders into the internal warehouse management system.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in a warehouse shipping receiving or logistics role.
- Software Skills: Proficiency with third-party logistics portals (like My Courier) and carrier software (UPS WorldShip FedEx Ship Manager).
- Physical Capability: Ability to stand for long periods and lift packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Equipment Knowledge: Experience operating warehouse machinery such as pallet jacks and forklifts is highly preferred.
- Detail Oriented: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple high-priority shipments simultaneously.
