Responsibilities & Qualifications
The Novelis Warren team is seeking a Shipping Coordinator. The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for the timely and accurate execution of finished goods and scrap shipments transportation planning carrier coordination shipping documentation inventory administration and customer service support for the Warren facility. This role coordinates daily shipping activities using MSW and JDA/TMS systems works closely with internal and external collaborators to support on-time delivery performance and helps maintain effective shipping processes procedures and communications.
Responsibilities
- Commit finished good coils to tendered loads in MSW and prepare paperwork to support on-time shipments.
- Assign and import security numbers print and organize finished goods coil shipping paperwork and provide paperwork reprints or shipping assistance as needed.
- Tender modify and manage loads in JDA/TMS including weekend loads carrier scheduling load availability communication and transportation updates.
- Coordinate with Utility Operators Pool Operators Associate Finishing Leads Team Leads Supply Chain Process teams Beverage Packaging AMS Atlanta Logistics and carriers to support coil disposition staging packaging shipment execution and customer commitments.
- Monitor and enter daily shipping performance and OTIF metrics for KPI reporting.
- Manage carrier administration carrier forecasts premium freight requests ETAs POD requests TMS disputes border detention disputes and transportation-related AP requests.
- Administer finished goods and scrap shipping processes including scrap inventory tracking scrap carrier scheduling scrap shipment execution monthly scrap inventory outbound scrap logs and BOL filing.
- Support return coil administration pre-shipment activity for finished goods and scrap yearly physical inventory annual RFP support and communication regarding carrier quality and reliability.
- Maintain shipping/shipping systems work instructions and procedures; update new SCAT codes in MSW and communicate procurement launch issues as needed.
- Participate in shipping-related safety activities including daily safety walks on coordinated days and support EHS policies and requirements in the shipping area.
- Perform general filing administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to and support company quality environmental health & safety and certification standards including ISO 9001:2015 ISO 14001:2015 ISO 45001:2018 IATF 16949:2016 and ASI Certifications where applicable.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- 3-5 years experience in logistics
- Ability to manage multiple priorities meet deadlines and communicate effectively with internal and external collaborators.
- Strong attention to detail organization follow-up and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision while maintaining professionalism honesty and integrity.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn and use shipping ERP and transportation management systems.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Traffic Management Supply Chain Logistics Business or related field.
- Prior experience as a Traffic Manager Shipping Coordinator Logistics Coordinator or similar role.
- Experience with MSW JDA/TMS SAP transportation management systems carrier administration freight tendering detention/dispute processes and KPI reporting.
- Knowledge of finished goods scrap shipment processes inventory administration and DOT hazardous materials shipping requirements.
Work Environment / Expectations
- Manufacturing and office environment with frequent coordination across plant operations and external logistics partners.
- Must be able to support time-sensitive shipping needs and communications including occasional after-hours availability as business needs require.

Location Profile
Novelis Warren facility is located in northeast Ohio approximately an hour drive from Cleveland and an hour and a half from Pittsburgh. The facility built in 1965 applies coating to rolled aluminum beverage can sheet. The sheet is used to make aluminum beverage can ends (lids) for global soft drink beer and sparkling water brands. Warren showcases several high-end cultural venues including the Warren Community Amphitheater and Packard Music Hall. The 95 employee Warren team is active in the community promoting recycling supporting STEM education and offering a helping hand to local community shelters.
