Job Description
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the shipment of IFS products in an efficient accurate and cost-effective manner. This position works closely with Customer Service Production and Warehouse personnel to ensure orders are shipped on time and meet customer requirements.
Schedule: MondayFriday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Schedule and coordinate all outbound freight shipments including TL LTL parcel and customer pickups.
- Review and prepare open sales orders for shipment using the WiSys ERP system.
- Generate and distribute all shipping documentation including pick tickets bills of lading packing slips export documentation and other required shipping documents.
- Coordinate with Customer Service Production and Warehouse personnel to ensure customer orders are completed and shipped on schedule.
- Receive verify and process incoming shipments and customer returns for accuracy.
- Schedule carrier appointments and communicate with freight carriers regarding pickups deliveries and shipment status.
- Monitor shipment schedules and proactively resolve shipping issues to minimize delays.
- Support inventory accuracy by participating in cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Ensure customer orders are picked staged and shipped accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain shipping records and documentation in accordance with company policies and ISO requirements.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shipping and warehouse processes.
- Perform general administrative duties including filing data entry answering carrier inquiries and other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- 23 years of supply chain experience with a concentration in shipping and receiving.
- Recent experience operating a sit-down forklift required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational problem-solving and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook with the ability to learn and effectively use ERP systems and databases.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Required to wear all designated personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Ability to stand walk bend stoop kneel reach and use hands and arms throughout an 8-hour shift or longer as needed.
- Ability to lift push pull and/or move up to 55 pounds.
- Ability to climb stairs as needed.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment.
- Occasional exposure to fumes airborne particles and a non-temperature-controlled warehouse environment.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment where noise levels are frequently loud.
