Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure completion of all shipping documents including: bill of ladings packing slips shipping labels Export documents processing of shipments through ERP system and other related processes
Determine the most economical modes of transportation such as LTL volume LTL truckload partial truckload; maximize shipping efficiency through consolidation of shipments
Work with Customer Service department to resolve late orders shortages expedited requests claims for freight damage and freight estimates; resolve shipping delays due to customer requests
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all shipments by working with manufacturing when shortages or discrepancies are discovered
Maintain accurate and updated database of shipping weights
Provide indirect supervision to shipping staff including delegating workload and dispatch list assignments; provide training and mentoring to entry-level shipping associates
Lead weekly shipping staff meetings
Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.

Minimum Qualifications
- No minimum education required
- 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Ability to use basic computer software such as spreadsheets databases word processing applications email Internet etc.
- Solid verbal and written communication
