Shipping and Receiving Clerk
PURPOSE:As a Shipping/Receiving Clerk you play a vital role in ensuring materials tools equipment and products are received stored and distributed efficiently across all facilities. This position is designed for individuals eager to grow and eventually lead inventory control systems within a fast-paced and dynamic company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle materials safely to prevent damage
- Load and unload shipments using various equipment
- Complete all paperwork accurately including logs and shipment records
- Prepare products for shipment and ensure timely delivery
- Organize and maintain the warehouse keeping track of material locations
- Support production needs by expediting material handling
- Follow company procedures and maintain a clean orderly workspace
- Conduct daily forklift inspections
- Perform cycle counts and verify inventory quantities
- Use computers for inventory tracking
- Carry out additional duties as assigned
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts and skill development
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent or 6 months experience in a similar position
- The ability to read understand and verify all shipping and receiving paperwork in-put information into the computer system use a computer and barcode scanner
- Licensed to operate an industrial powered lift truck
- Comfortable using computers and barcode scanners
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Interest in growing towards an accurate inventory system
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Youll work in a warehouse setting sometimes outdoors using standard office and warehouse equipment.
The environment can be lively and noisy reflecting the fast pace of operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly use hands and arms; communicate clearly
- Frequently stand walk stoop kneel crouch or crawl
- Occasionally sit climb or balance
- Lift and move objects up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier items occasionally
- Maintain good vision and focus for safety and accuracy
HEALTH AND SAFETY:
- Follow all safety rules and regulations
- Use required protective equipment (safety shoes glasses PPE)
- Keep your work area clean and safe
- Report any safety concerns immediately
PERSONAL PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS:
Use or wear the equipment protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or worn:
- Safety shoes
- Safety glasses
- Other types of PPE as needed
