Job Summary

Title:Shift Supervisor

Location:New York Metropolitan Area

Reports to:Director of Operations& Security

Pay Range:$24.72 per hour (effectively $45000 per year)

FLSA Status:Non-Exempt

Status:Full-time(35hourper week)

Role Summary:The successful candidate will be under the supervision of the Security Director and Site Director. The primary responsibility will be to oversee and instruct the security staff of their assigned facility.The shift supervisor willbe requiredto provide direction andassistanceto both Residence Workers and Security Guards ensuring a safe environment for both employees and clients.

Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties:

The Shift Supervisoris responsible for but not limited to:

  • Monitor the clients units and groundsat all timesto ensure the security and safety of each resident
  • Examine all items entering the facility to ensure client and staff safety
  • Provide crisis prevention and intervention as needed
  • Record incidents and residents grievancesappropriate inlog bookand on incident report
  • Maintain ongoing communication with all department supervisors concerning social services issues
  • Manage entry logs to ensure allpersonsentering the facility are recorded and accounted for
  • Inspect all cleaning and service chores assigned to programaidesto ensure completion
  • Participate in the development of site goals andobjectivesby making recommendations that canaidein site efficiency
  • Assistclients with questions and resolving any issue as they may arise
  • Monitor video surveillance of all areas of the facility
  • Adhereto safety health and fire hazardguidelines;policies and procedures
  • Report any immediate safety hazards toappropriate supervisorypersonnel or maintenance personnel
  • Work diplomatically to solve issues that may arise
  • Provide coverage when necessary
  • May berequiredto work evenings weekends and holidays as needed
  • Perform all other required duties to ensure the facility is running efficiently

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk stand kneel crouch and bend over.
  • Ability to lift reach and handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to travel todifferent locationswithin New York City as needed.

Work Environment / Schedule Requirements:

  • Staff must continue working past their shift unless relieved by another staff member or authorized to leave by a supervisor.Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
  • May beto work on or during evenings weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

  • NYS Security License F-80 Certificate of Fitness CPR/Basic First Aid certification.
  • Minimum High School Diploma / GED
  • Ability toestablishand maintain professional boundaries in working with clients
  • General knowledge of working in a residential facility preferred
  • Knowledge of HIPPA guidelines and standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Commitment to excellence andhigh standards
  • Good judgment with the ability to maketimelyand sound decisions
  • Ability to assess emergency situations and respond effectively
  • Must be able to read speak write and understand English for administrative purposes.
  • Must pass drug screening to be appointed.
  • This positionmay besubject to a series of investigations beforeand afterappointment.
