Job Summary

PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

The Shift/Safety Supervisor is directly responsible for the management and supervision of the Safety Monitors on duty on their assigned shift. Monitors all activities to ensure safety in the physical plant and civility amongst clients visitors and staff. This is for our site located in Long Island City Queens.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • SupervisesSafetyMonitorsandensuresallsafetyandsecuritydutiesareperformed as per agency protocol.
  • Conductsfiredrillsanddocumentsresults.
  • RespondstoincidentsandfollowsDHSandagencyprotocolsinrespondingtoand documenting incidents.
  • ReportsincidentsofChildAbusetothestateCentralRegistry.
  • referrals and conducts initial intake ofnew families upon arrival tothefacility.
  • Answerfacilityphoneanddirectscalls.
  • EnsuresthatSafetyMonitorsconductpatrolsandaremonitoringtheCCTVcamera system and are reporting and documenting observations.
  • AssistsSafetyMonitors inensuringthatclientsfollowshelterruleswhileinthefacility.
  • TrainsSafetyMonitorsinsecuritymeasuresandrecommendschangesin procedures/equipment to the Manager of Building Operations.
  • Otherdutiesasassigned.


ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct dailyauditofboth theSafetyMonitors DeskLogandtheSupervisors Desk Log for accuracy and content.
  • Prepares/conductsEmployeeAppraisalEvaluationsinatimelyandthoroughmanner.
  • PreparesandauditsIncident/AccidentReports.
  • Maintainandschedulevansdailyusage.
  • CompletesendofshiftreportsandemailsreporttoManagerofOperations theProgram Director and DSS/Asst. Director.
  • CompletesendofshiftreportsandemailsreporttoManagerofOperations theProgram Director and DSS/Asst. Director.
  • Overseeandsupervise department staffintheutilization oftheDHSClient Assistance andRe-housingSystem(CARES)SystemregardingIntakeCheck-InIncidentReports and Facility Bed Management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MustpossessSecuritylicense.
  • Must possess an F02.
  • MustpossessanF80.
  • MustpossesscurrentCPRcertification.
  • NYS Driverslicense required.
  • Two(2)yearsofSupervisory experienceincommercial/residentialsecurityorlaw enforcement orFive(5)years experience asaPrivate/PersonalSecurity Officer.
  • Mustgavegoodcommunicationskillsexperienceworkingwithwomenandchildren.
  • Exhibitsuperiorprofessionalismatalltimesevenwhenunderpressureorexperiencing challenges with the clients.
  • Must successfully complete background investigation.
