About the role

Join our team as a Shift Coordinator Hot Metals where youll lead and support a team of maintenance tradespeople in delivering safe reliable and high-quality maintenance this role youll help ensure consistent application of asset management practices while creating an environment where your team can do their best work.

Youll play an important part in maintaining the safety reliability and performance of our operations. While building a strong collaborative team culture. Were committed to maximizing the value of our assets through thoughtful planning innovation and continuous improvement. Our approach includes modeling forecasting and lifecycle management. Always with a focus on safety sustainability and long-term success.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and support a team of tradespeople in executing maintenance activities safely and efficiently

  • Coordinate and allocate resources to respond to breakdowns and planned maintenance work

  • Provide guidance and support to resolve day-to-day challenges in the field

  • Promote and reinforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with safety standards

  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver maintenance plans including shutdown activities

  • Support a culture of accountability teamwork and continuous improvement


About you

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
    Leadership: Experience leading coaching or supporting a team in a collaborative and inclusive way

  • Maintenance & Asset Management: Solid background in maintenance operations with an understanding of equipment reliability and familiarity with asset management principles (lifecycle reliability risk)

  • Problem Solving & Execution: Ability to assess challenges think critically and take practical timely action

  • Communication & Collaboration: Clear respectful communication with team members leaders and cross-functional partners

  • Planning & Quality Focus: Strong organizational skills to prioritize and coordinate work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes

Where you will be working

Our Kennecott mine is a world-class fully integrated copper mining operation including a concentrator smelter and refinery located just outside Salt Lake City Utah in the United States. We produce copper precious metals including gold and silver molybdenum and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
