Shasta Elementary School Talented and Gifted Teacher

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: This employee is responsible for organizing implementing and supporting instructional strategies to meet the needs of gifted student in accordance with district priorities state and federal law. This employee may facilitate professional development related to the education of the districts TAG students.
Knowledge of K-12 Education
Knowledge of child growth and development at each level of instruction
Physical ability to adhere to OSHA and district safety regulations. Work within the districts communicable disease control plan (blood borne pathogens) and be aware of the existence and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals as identified on the MSDS sheets.

EDUCATION: B.A. or M.A. Second language preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. A minimum of three years of teaching experience.
2. Demonstrates a commitment to advocate for the academic enrichment needs of all students.
3. Communicates TAG guidelines to staff and parents in accordance with local state and federal laws and board policy.
4. Uses appropriate assessments to identify TAG students across the district.
5. Supports implementation of best practices for students.
6. Supports implementation of culturally responsive social emotional learning and trauma informed teaching practices and anti-bias education.
7. Plans and develops programs or services for the needs of elementary and secondary TAG students.
8. Partners and plans collaboratively with other TAG teacher for each group of TAG students.
9. Provides appropriate schedules for TAG students involving school personnel as required.
10. Promotes effective TAG instructional methods by facilitating staff training in accordance with district requests for training.
11. Uses state district and classroom assessment data and other evidence to monitor annual growth of TAG students.
12. Demonstrates an ability to effectively work and communicate with students parents and school personnel from diverse cultures and/or backgrounds.
13. Consults with district personnel community members parents and outside organizations to promote learning opportunities for TAG students.
14. Works collaboratively to implement district and program initiatives.
15. Uses technology fluently to manage all components of the job requirements.
16. Works to establish open lines of communication with parents students colleagues and community organizations.
17. Maintains regular on-time attendance.
18. Willing to be a contributing member of a highly effective team by demonstrating commitment flexibility positivity collaboration and sense of humor.
19. Performs related duties as assigned by the elementary and secondary curriculum directors.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Holds appropriate licensure with TSPC
2. Ability to work with children parents and school personnel.
3. Dependable transportation current drivers license and good driving record.

COMPENSATION:

• 190day contract
• Family medical dental and vision insurance
• 6% PERS paid by District
