Pay Rate: $20 - $26 DOE

Arctic Home Living has been selling and servicing hot tubs and water filtration systems in Alaska for decades with locations in Fairbanks Anchorage and Wasilla. JOB SUMMARY:The Service Technician I is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while providing service installation and maintenance support for hot tubs saunas cold plunges and water treatment systems. This position requires a high degree of technical skill professionalism and the ability to work in extreme weather and physically demanding environments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Technical Expertise: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical electrical and plumbing systems for hot tubs saunas and cold plunges.

• Customer Service: Provide professional white-glove support and clear communication during service calls and installations.

• Quality Assurance: Perform detailed inspections on all equipment pre-delivery and post-installation to ensure 100% functionality.

• Operations & Documentation: Use ERP tools to manage work orders warranty records and service inventory.

• Field Logistics: Safely operate company vehicles to job sites and maintain organized stocked and clean equipment.

• Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to all safety protocols including vehicle inspections (DVIR) and proper tool care.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Strong technical aptitude with mechanical electrical or plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals schematics and work orders.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable self-directed and organized.
• Comfortable working independently in remote or extreme environments.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficient with basic hand and power tools.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Valid drivers license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
2. Able to pass background check and obtain/maintain a DOT Medical Examiners Certificate (within 2 weeks of hire).
3. Experience operating or willingness to be trained on heavy equipment (forklift skid steer etc.).
4. Willingness to travel within Alaska for multi-day service trips as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience with Alaska Native Corporations.
2. Basic Technical and Mechanical Skills.
3. Experience in diagnostics and repair of equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift carry and move equipment and materials weighing up to 75 lbs. unassisted and push/pull up to 1200 lbs. with assistance.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics.
• Climb ladders or stairs while assisting with equipment up to 250 lbs. using dollies or lifting devices.
• Ability to stand bend kneel crouch climb ladders and work overhead for extended periods.
• Stand or walk for up to 10 hours per day on uneven icy or slippery surfaces.
• Manual dexterity to handle small parts and tools with precision.
• Perform repetitive tasks using hand tools and power equipment.
• Visual acuity and color vision to identify electrical components and safety hazards.
• Tolerance for exposure to various weather conditions noise dust and environments that may be hot cold or wet ranging from -45F to 90F.
• Operate power tools heavy equipment and drive service vehicles for extended periods.
• Independently operate motor vehicles in remote and challenging terrain.
