Job Summary

High School Diploma or equivalent required

5 - 10 years of recent certified law enforcement/peace officer or comparable military service

5 years experience in moving and shooting with a firearm

Valid Connecticut drivers license

Valid State of Connecticut Guard card

Security Officer Firearm Permit (Blue Card)

Must be literate in reading writing and verbally communicating in English

The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole rather than a single member organization.

The Enhanced Protection Officer serves alongside other Public Safety colleagues as front line guardians to the Hartford HealthCare Community by providing customer service and ensuring our environments are safe secure and more prepared for all of our patients visitors colleagues clinicians and physicians.

Enhanced Protection Officers will provide enhanced protection services for identified service areas in a professional fast-paced ever evolving environment.

They have previous professional experience in law enforcement related professions are well trained and equipped to prevent hazardous situations with their presence respond using additional tools and equipment while managing emergency situations.
