Job Summary
Server & Storage Technician Curvature Server & Storage Technicians must be able to work in a fast-paced environment that requires accuracy solid troubleshooting skills and the ability to clearly communicate status and issues. They are responsible for rigorously testing and configuring a variety of networking equipment.
What youll be doing:
- Tests networking server and storage products to all order specifications
- Advanced testing and complex configuration of Cisco Juniper and other networking equipment
- Complex assembly and diagnostics
- Properly rebinning equipment to appropriate locations within Operations
- Proper and efficient testing of all incoming gear. Using Tech Work Space and tech logging all testing output.
- Interfaces with Shipping Receiving Repair Material Control and Sales
- Takes phone or visitor messages and delivers to appropriate individual
- Accurately inputs information into inventory management program
- Learns and uses test equipment
- Maintains safe clean and organized work space
- Composes and types routine correspondence and memoranda using word processing software
- Compiles and types statistical reports including tables and text using spreadsheet software
- Performs other related duties as required
What we are looking for:
- Knowledge of modern business communication specifically electronic communication
- Ability to use a personal computer and various software packages including skills in Microsoft Suite
- Ability to accurately follow instructions and retain technical information quickly
- Ability to interpret schematics blueprints and diagrams.
- Ability to work in fast-paced collaborative environment
- Proven organizational skills
- Demonstrates teaming behaviors including effective communication skills face-to-face via email and on the phone
- Ability to establish priorities work independently and as part of a team and proceed with objectives without supervision
- Basic Knowledge of testing methodology topology cabling plant
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Two to four-year college degree preferred but not required.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-year Knowledge of modern warehouse procedures and methods including telephone communications office systems and record keeping
- 1-year industry experience with IT networking hardware or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-year experience with CATOS-based fixed configuration switches (i.e. 2948G)
