Position Overview

• Job Title: Server Assistant
• Location: 3001 Atlantic Ave Virginia Beach VA 23451
• Schedule: Variable or Part-Time (must include weekends and holidays)
• Work Environment: Oceanfront hotel right on the boardwalk

Summary:
The Server Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of tables and dining areas in a restaurant. They support the server before during and after service with clearing dishes maintaining a clean and presentable dining room resetting tables for new guests and assisting with various tasks to execute exceptional service.

What Youll Do:

• Table Setup and Maintenance:
  • Clear tables of used dishes glassware and utensils promptly after guests have finished their meals.
  • Wipe down tables chairs and condiment holders to remove crumbs spills and debris.
  • Reset tables with clean tablecloths napkins and tableware for incoming guests.
• Beverage and Condiment Refills:
  • Refill water glasses bread baskets and condiment containers as needed throughout service.
  • Assist servers in delivering beverages appetizers and other items to tables as directed.
• Assistance to Servers:
  • Support servers by running food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate tables.
  • Communicate with serving staff to coordinate table turnovers and ensure efficient service.
  • Respond to guest requests for additional items such as extra napkins utensils or condiments.
• Cleaning and Sanitization:
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of dining areas including floors windows and furniture.
  • Empty trash bins and bus carts regularly to keep dining areas clean and free of clutter.
  • Adhere to sanitation and hygiene standards including proper handwashing and food handling practices.
• Customer Service:
  • Provide friendly and attentive service to guests assisting with seating menu inquiries and other requests as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with guests to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns or special requests.
  • Uphold a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant by greeting guests warmly and maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Teamwork and Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with other front-of-house staff including servers hosts/hostesses and bartenders to deliver exceptional service.
  • Assist coworkers during peak periods and contribute to a smooth flow of operations in the restaurant.
  • Communicate effectively with management and colleagues to address any issues or concerns related to table service.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred but not required
• Must have basic reading writing and math skills.
• Customer Focus: Passion for providing excellent customer service and creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order delivery and guest interaction.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift trays or other items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays based on business needs.
