Job Summary
- Job Responsibilities
- Exercises required supervision to ensure that the institutions buildings and all inmates and public property located therein and thereat are safely and properly secured at all times.
- Recommends disciplinary measures for infractions within limits of polices and initiates necessary program removal.
- Oversees all veteran applications and coordinate necessary transportation requests for available vacancies.
- Maintains necessary documentation and tracking of all incarcerated veteran programmatic statistics.
- Identifies available internal and external programmatic or VA specific needs.
- Prepares incarcerated veterans for successful release.

- Minimum and Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelors degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and eighteen (18) months experience in correctional security military or police work.
A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for 1/2 of required experience.
Must be certified by the SCDC training academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
