Team and Mission

You will lead a skilled development team inside a 50-person company where your impact is immediate and visible. Reporting to the Director of Technology you will set technical direction establish standards mentor engineers and remain hands-on with production code.

The platforms you build and lead touch hundreds of thousands of students and employees every year. Strong technical leadership here has a direct measurable impact on client outcomes and organizational growth.

The Role

As Senior Web Engineer / Team Lead you are the senior technical force inside Advantages development group. You lead by doing. You write and review production code architect scalable solutions define development standards and mentor developers to grow in their craft. You are the bridge between technical execution and product direction translating complex requirements into well-engineered maintainable systems.

What You Will Lead and Own

Team Leadership and Development (60%)

  1. Lead mentor and coach a small team of Web Developers in C# .NET Core and Umbraco
  2. Conduct meaningful code reviews that improve quality and share knowledge
  3. Partner with project managers and producers to plan and balance priorities across multiple client projects
  4. Support team member growth through regular feedback career development and technical coaching
  5. Lead team rituals including standups retrospectives and knowledge-sharing sessions
  6. Provide input on technical hiring onboarding and team structure

Technical Direction (40%)

  1. Design and evolve CMS-driven web application architectures (C#) Core MVC and MS SQL Server
  2. Stay hands-on with complex development work: integrations performance improvements and challenging features
  3. Integrate REST APIs and authentication systems including OAuth2 SAML and OpenID Connect; document with OpenAPI (Swagger)
  4. Oversee Azure deployments CI/CD pipelines IIS and Windows Server administration and security and performance monitoring
  5. Define and evolve coding standards deployment practices and branching strategies
  6. Participate in client implementation planning calls
  7. Troubleshoot production issues collaboratively across teams
  8. Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to product and architectural direction

  • 7 years of professional web development experience
  • 3 years in a technical lead or engineering management capacity
  • Proven success leading or mentoring developers formally or informally
  • Management or leadership training completed or actively pursued

  • Education: Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
