SENIOR WATER/UTILITIES CIVIL ENGINEER - Sacramento CA

Kier Wright is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior water/utilities civil engineer to join our growing water department. This is an excellent chance to work on a broad range of potable water recycled water and wastewater engineering projects with a focus on hydraulic modeling pipeline design pump station and lift station design and permitting through construction.

What you will do

Proposals

• Lead marketing and business development efforts including writing potable water recycled water and wastewater sections of proposals participating in client interviews and supporting negotiations for project contracts.
  

Project Management

• Oversee project management for potable water recycled water and wastewater capital improvement projects including pipeline pump station and lift station design.
• Manage client relationships and subconsultant contracts.
• Analyze proposed designs for reliability constructability and cost-effectiveness.
  

Staff Management

• Mentor junior staff through technical issues and professional development
  

Technical

• Permitting new water recycled water and wastewater systems and facilities.
• Develop design standards and prepare technical reports.
• Lead hydraulic modeling and engineering analyses for pressurized water distribution and recycled water systems including pipeline sizing pressure zone analysis and pump station design using WaterCAD and Civil 3D.
• Prepare technical studies hydraulic model reports and design reports for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  

What you have

Education Experience

• Bachelors degree in civil engineering or a related field
• 12 years of experience
• Extensive experience with hydraulic modeling software for pressurized water distribution systems
• Proficiency in WaterCAD AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license (CA preferred)
  

Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions

• Prolonged periods of sitting (up to 8 hours a day for office staff)
• Interacting with technology (computer cellphone etc.)
• Ability to lift and/or carry items ( up to 20 lbs.)
• Prolonged periods of standing/walking (field checks)
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (field checks)
• Occasional travel e.g. driving to offices jobsites client meetings etc.
