Job Description
Join Olssons dynamic and expanding Roadway team as a Senior Engineer and have a pivotal impact in shaping the success of our growth in the St. Louis area! As we embark on the incredible opportunity to expand our footprint we are seeking an experienced engineer to elevate our team to new heights. Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for transportation-related projects including urban and rural highways interchanges and municipal roadways.
In this influential role you will spreadhead technical excellence serving as the lead engineer and trusted advisor on intricate projects. Your responsibilities will extend to providing high-level technical design overseeing quality assurance/control and managing projects with a keen eye on scope schedule and budget. You will not only review contracts and champion efficiency in producing top-notch work but will also curate technical resources fostering an environment of continuous improvement. There will also be opportunity to provide guidance to less experienced staff contribute to team building and engage in client relations.
As a Senior Engineer you will take charge of supervising and nurturing the professional and technical growth of team members. Your emphasis on mentorship will contribute to a culture that values skill development collaboration and collective we can make a positive impact on our communities and play a vital role in shaping the future of transportation infrastructure.
Primary responsibilities:
- Provides high-level project design and review of project documents and design quality for complex projects.
- Serves as a technical specialist applying advanced engineering concepts and developing approaches to solve for complexities.
- Performs QA/QC and ensures delivery of completed designs meets quality standards and project objectives.
- Conducts research in areas of considerable scope and complexity.
- Advises and directs staff on design approaches to fulfill project requirements.
- Works collaboratively to promote efficiencies and produce high quality work.
- Contributes to the development of standards and/or guidelines for engineering activities within the team.
- Supervises mentors and reviews technical assignments of less experienced staff.

You bring to the team:
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering.
- Project management experience including scope schedule and budget control.
- 8 years of experience in highway or municipal design.
- Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE).
- Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Connectivity with local municipalities in the St. Louis area strongly preferred.
