Job Description: Preferred Personnel Solutions is seeking to hire a Senior Technical Drafter/CAD Lead to support commercial architectural and ornamental millwork and metalwork projects from bid through fabrication and install. This role produces accurate submittal and production drawings maintains BOMs and budgets and leads internal and subcontract drafting resources.

Qualifications for Senior Technical Drafter/CAD Lead:

After meeting all of PPS standard qualifications Candidate must meet below qualifications:

• Must have 5 or more years of drafting experience.

• Strong knowledge of commercial construction.

• Advanced skill in AutoCAD.

• 5 years or more of Microvellum experience.

• Innergy experience is a plus.

• Leadership experience and a strong understanding of fabrication practices.

• Willing to submit to a drug screening and background check.

Assignment Duties for Senior Technical Drafter/CAD Lead:

• Program CNC milling lathe or other machinery according to blueprint specifications using G-code and CAM software.

• Lead and train junior operators ensuring they follow safety protocols best practices and quality standards.

• Inspect finished products to meet required tolerances and specifications; conduct root cause analysis for defects or rework.

• Lead end-to-end CNC process development for new product introductions including programming G-code optimization and cycle-time reduction.

• Specify and validate workholding and fixture designs to improve accuracy repeatability and setup efficiency.

• Troubleshoot CNC machine issues coordinate maintenance and ensure equipment readiness.

• Work with engineers designers quality production planning and supply chain to ensure manufacturability cost optimization and on-time delivery.

• Develop and maintain standard work instructions setup sheets tooling lists and program change-control processes.

• Proficiency in CNC programming Microvellum blueprint reading and precision measurement tools.

• Strong leadership organizational and communication skills to mentor teams and coordinate cross-functional projects.

• Ability to identify and resolve technical and operational issues efficiently.

• Knowledge of quality assurance standards ISO and safety regulations.

• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
