Position Summary:

We are seeking a technically proficient and driven Senior Technical Business Developer to lead customer engagement for our sub-transmission portfolio focusing on 72.5145 kV Dead Tank Circuit Breakers. This hybrid role bridges product management and sales ensuring our f-gas-free digital-ready DTB solutions meet evolving utility needs and position us as a market leader. This position reports directly to the Product Marketing Director and functionally to the Global Portfolio Management of Grid Components.

This is a remote position. Candidates can be located anywhere in the US with preference for Cary NC or Houston TX.

Key Responsibilities:

• Market strategy & growth Drive U.S. subtransmission market expansion by developing new utility/EPC/OEM opportunities shaping gotomarket plans and securing product homologation.

• Technical leadership Act as the primary technical interface leading configuration discussions advanced feature evaluations and presales solution design.

• Standards & industry influence Ensure IEEE/ANSI compliance represent the company in industry bodies and help shape evolving technical specifications.

• Partnerships & product innovation Build strategic ecosystem relationships while channeling customer insights to guide product evolution digital integration and sustainable SF6free technology adoption.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or other Engineering field required.

• 10 years of experience in high voltage equipment preferably with circuit breakers or other key substation components.

• Deep understanding of sub-transmission applications and utility processes in the US.

• Proven experience in technical sales product management or business development.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience with vacuum interrupter technology and SF6-free solutions/regulation.

• Familiarity with IEEE/ANSI standards for high-voltage products.

• Ability to travel up to 30% - domestic and international - may be required.

ABB provides 11 paid holidays. Vacation is provided based on years of service for hourly and non-exempt positions. Salaried exempt positions are provided vacation under a permissive time away policy.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicants qualifications and experience this position is expected to pay between $119000 and $190400 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
