Summary

The Air Import Senior Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the air & ocean import operations and leading a team of import specialists. The role involves ensuring that all import shipments are processed accurately and efficiently and that customer service is maintained at a high level. The Air Import Senior Team Lead is also responsible for building strong relationships with customers and other stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the air & ocean import operations ensuring that all shipments are processed accurately and efficiently.
• Lead a team of import specialists providing coaching and mentoring as needed.
• Build strong relationships with customers and other stakeholders.
• Ensure that customer service is maintained at a high level.
• Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements as needed.
• Manage import compliance ensuring that all regulations and requirements are met.
• Resolve issues and conflicts that arise during the import process.
• Collaborate with other teams and departments as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Educational background / Work experience

• A bachelors degree in logistics supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in air import operations with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role.

• Strong knowledge of air import regulations and requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software.

Supervisory Responsibilities (if any)

• The Air Import Senior Team Lead will supervise a team of import specialists.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the transportation and logistics industry.
• Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders.
• Familiarity with import compliance software.

Language skills

• Fluent in English (oral and written)

Computer Literacy

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software is required.
• Experience with import compliance software is a plus.

For this position the expected base pay range is $32.91 - $41.13 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors including relevant experience skills education or certifications and geographic location consistent with applicable laws and company policy.
