Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Tableau Reporting Consultants with 6-8 years of Tableau experience and strong hands-on experience working with Databricks as a primary data source. This role is ideal for a reporting specialist who understands how to effectively consume optimize and visualize data from Databricks environments while delivering high-quality dashboards under tight timelines. Prior experience in the healthcare domain is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop high-impact Tableau dashboards and reports leveraging Databricks-hosted datasets
Establish and manage live and extract-based connections between Tableau and Databricks (Delta Lake / Spark SQL) Write and optimize SQL queries against Databricks tables/views for efficient data retrieval
Collaborate with data engineering teams to understand Databricks data models schemas and optimization strategies
Ensure Tableau dashboards are performance-optimized when querying large-scale Databricks datasets
Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and data governance based on source data access rules Perform data validation reconciliation and troubleshooting across Tableau and Databricks layers
Deliver reporting solutions within tight deadlines and agile delivery cycles Provide insights and recommendations on best practices for integrating Tableau with Databricks
Required Qualifications:
6-8 years of Tableau experience (Desktop Server/Cloud Prep)
Strong hands-on experience using Databricks as a data source (must-have)
Experience querying Delta tables and views
Familiarity with Databricks SQL endpoints / warehouses
Understanding of how Spark/Databricks data structures impact Tableau performance Advanced SQL skills for data extraction filtering and optimization Proven experience working in tight timelines / high-pressure delivery environments Experience building dashboards on large distributed datasets. Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks between Tableau and Databricks Prior experience with healthcare data (claims eligibility provider clinical prior authorization etc.)
Strong understanding of data visualization and storytelling principles
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience integrating Tableau with cloud-based data platforms (AWS Azure) Exposure to data lakehouse architecture concepts (Delta Lake partitioning caching)
Familiarity with Tableau performance optimization techniques specific to large datasets
Experience working in regulated environments (HIPAA compliance)
Knowledge of FHIR / HL7 healthcare standards
Key Competencies
Strong ability to bridge data engineering and business reporting layers
Deep understanding of query performance tuning between Tableau and Databricks Understanding Databricks data structures and query patterns
Efficiently consuming Databricks data in Tableau Hands-on experience with Protegrity data protection platform
Expertise in tokenization and detokenization of sensitive data (PHI/PII) Understanding of how tokenized data is consumed in reporting tools like Tableau Ability to ensure secure data handling while maintaining reporting usability Familiarity with data masking encryption and access control policies Ability to work independently in fast-paced ambiguous environments
Excellent stakeholder communication and data storytelling skills High attention to data accuracy and governance
