Senior Systems Engineer

McLaughlin Research Corporation (MRC) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer who will support the Platforms & Payloads Integration Department (Code 45) and others at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport RI. The successful candidate will apply mechanical and model based systems engineering skills and experience to develop integrate and provide life cycle support for various launchers and payload systems including unmanned undersea vehicles (UUVs).

NUWC is the United States Navys full-spectrum research development test and evaluation engineering and fleet support center for submarines autonomous underwater systems and offensive and defensive weapons systems associated with undersea warfare. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced schedule driven environment.

• Work with NUWC Engineers to establish standards practices and procedures for integrating testing and evaluating weapons systems used onboard Navy Submarines.
• Evaluate system capabilities architectures design concepts requirements risks opportunities and processes for integration test evaluation and transition impacts.
• Design develop and implement test and evaluation strategies plans and methods to assure reliability of systems in conjunction with system specifications and defined capabilities.
• Develop and interpret requirements drawings data sets reports and specifications
• Interface with other members of project teams to define and implement engineering solutions to meet systems mission objectives
• Resolve programmatic and technical problems that would affect cost schedule and performance.
• Develop document and maintain test procedures methods and tools
• Integrate technical cost and safety considerations into the product definition to comply with Department of Defense requirements
• Perform system analyses design studies testing and data collection/analysis

• Bachelors Degree in an engineering or related field
• 5 years of engineering experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance
