Our System Safety team is dedicated to evaluating and mitigating the safety risks that our products may pose to the world specifically to people hardware and the environment. By applying rigorous engineering and management principles criteria and techniques the team ensures that safety isoptimizedthroughout every phase of the system lifecycle.
System Safety is an integral part of the design process functioning as a criticalcomponentwithin the broader systems engineering framework. From concept development to deployment and beyond the team works toidentifypotential hazards assess risks and implement solutions to enhance product safety and reliability for our warfighters.

What You Will Do
As aSenior System Safety Engineer your responsibilitieswill include:
Developing and implementing one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs
Performing MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses or customers approved equivalent
Coordinating with customer safetyrepresentativesapplying methods standards and techniques to provide clarification of system requirements to software hardware and test personnel to ensure design and architecture considerations are appropriatelyallocatedto the system and horizontally integrated across the development teams.
Coordinating with customer safety representatives to gain safety approval fromappropriate SafetyReview Board authorities
Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properlyeliminatehazards or provide effective controls.
Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds
Performing System Safety planning hazard analyses and design analyses
Briefing safety considerations at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process
Interpreting system requirements customerspecificationsand military standards
Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program
Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design
Interfacing with other engineering functions: Systems Engineering Software or Firmware Engineering Electrical Engineering Hardware Engineering
Managing System Safety Working Group(s) between key Raytheon and Customer representatives
Ability to work on Special Access Program(s)
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum offive(5) years of relevantpriorexperience.
Experience with System& SoftwareSafety Engineering
Active and transferrable final U.S. government issuedSecretsecurity clearance isprior to start citizenship is as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience developing and implementingMIL-STD-882ESystem Safety Program tasks and analyses involving management (task series 100) analysis (task series 200) evaluation (task series 300) and verification (task series 400). This includes hardware and software safety related tasks.
Experience with DoD System Safety Programse.g.MIL-STD-882/ DO-178
Experience with written verbal and presentation skills
Experience with system and software safety implementation in Agile Development environment
Experience solving complex problems byleveragingavailable resources and research material
Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development
Experience interfacing with Human Systems Integrationshowcasingexecution of Human Factors Engineering tasking involving MIL-STD-1472.
Experience with Engineering Change Proposals Engineering Review Boards System Safety Working Groups
3years experiencewith amasters degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
Active and transferrable final U.S. government issuedSecretsecurity clearance.

The salary range for this role is 95500 USD - 181700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
