Job Summary

As a part of PMO program the Senior Survey Technician - Water Main Systems is responsible for preparation of TOR coordination of Survey Vendors and verification and correction of prepared basemap for CDWM CIP Water Main and Lead Service Line Replacement (LSLR) Programs under the supervision of the PMO Water Main Design Manager

Role Responsibilities:

  • Prepare yearly TOR to be accepted by DPS
  • Process utility Information Retrieval (IR) requests from CDOT Office of Underground Coordination (OUC) for CDWM CIP Water Main (WM) & LSLR Programs
  • Review and correction of all OUC utilities in provided topographic survey basemap using Microstation V8i/Microstation 2024 according to CDWM Utility and CADD standards manual.
  • Can be responsible for preparing basic GIS maps for IR process using ArcMap.
  • Can be responsible for preparing 80 Acre sheets for WM projects using ArcMap.
  • Able to coordinate and provide technical recommendations to the topographic survey consultants
  • Coordinate basemap revision process with Water Main Design and CADD team
  • Support with management of Topographic Survey Consulting Firms contracted for DWM CIP Water Main & LSLR Programs
  • Willingness to learn quickly and be detail oriented
  • Ability to organize work for Survey Team and maintain a high level of productivity
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
  • Exceptional communication skills both in written and verbal
  • Track status for projects in P6 software and other tracking software.
  • Engineering experience with utility infrastructure.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree  2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering planning or another science-related field.
  • Five (5) years of survey and/or engineering experience with utility infrastructure work.
  • Experience using MicroStation V8i or MicroStation 2024 Excel MS Word Blue Beam Orion
  • Five (5) Years experience in CADD/Civil/Water Resources/Planning discipline
