Senior Supply Chain Manager, Capacity Planning, R2L Supply Chain

Rapid and Rural Logistics organization is looking for a Sr. Supply Chain Manager with a delivery record and proven project management experience to own and execute strategic cross-functional operations and technology projects for our faster than Same Day operations. Robust understanding of fulfillment operations including under-the-roof processes inventory flows constrained FC assets (capacity and labor) quality and long term roadmaps will help develop new innovations.

This role will play a critical role in the future strategy for the same day program. It requires a high-level of ownership over the end-to-end process the ability to think outside of the box willingness to disrupt the current processes to create a new process the ability to design sustainable solutions and influence stakeholders. This role requires scoping large ambiguous projects managing to project timelines and communicating to senior management on status risks and process/product changes. Cross-team coordination project management and executive presentation skills are essential.


Key job responsibilities
- Driving innovation that improves the under-the-roof processes and continuously removes cost from our fulfillment and delivery network
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to plan organize execute and standardize complex projects to achieve R2L goals.
- Gathering and analyzing data across fulfillment and delivery functions to establish global standards for operations and other cross functional teams
- Analyzing and solving operational barriers with a focus on understanding root causes and driving forward opportunities
- Developing Amazon best practices for internal operations
- Leveraging analytics to support the future state of the business

A day in the life
The Sr. Supply Chain Manager leads network capacity modeling and optimization across North American SSD facilities managing multiple delivery streams including SSD Grocery Pharmacy and Hazmat. The role drives weekly operational decisions strategic planning and high-visibility events like Prime Day and Peak seasons. Working closely with Operations Finance Engineering and Design teams the SCM optimizes network performance and implements productivity improvements to meet 2025 volume targets. Key responsibilities include data-driven decision making developing automated capacity planning systems and creating scalable processes. Success requires both technical expertise and strategic business acumen.

About the team
The SSD RSR and Perishables Supply Chain team manages end-to-end operations for Amazons fastest most complex fulfillment networks delivering fresh groceries and fast-moving general merchandise goods. We operate at the intersection of speed and complexitybalancing ultra-fast delivery commitments with the unique challenges of perishable inventory and high-velocity general merchandise.

The team is responsible for short-term capacity planning that ensures our facilities can handle daily volume fluctuations inbound planning and design that optimizes how products flow into our network forecasting that anticipates customer demand with precision and in-stock management that keeps the right products available at the right time. This high-impact role owns strategic supply chain planning and design for a critical segment of Amazons fastest-growing business. Were building the future of ultra-fast fulfillment.

- Bachelors degree in supply chain management operations engineering analytics or related field
- 5 years of program or project management experience
- 5 years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy end to end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level including: pivot tables macros index/match vlookup VBA data links etc.

- Masters degree or MBA in supply chain business engineering finance or related technical or quantitative field
- Knowledge of SQL at an intermediate level including: compile queries subqueries aggregation/grouping data modification etc.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
