As a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer focused on Powertrain Drive Unit and Metals you will lead supplier industrialization from sourcing through Start of Production and post-launch stabilization. Reporting to the Supplier Industrialization Manager Drive Unit & Metals you will own manufacturing readiness technical risk reduction process validation and launch execution across assigned commodities. You will partner directly with suppliers and Lucid teams to ensure processes are capable scalable and prepared to deliver production-quality components on schedule. Success in this role includes timely APQP and PPAP execution demonstrated capacity and process capability disciplined closure of supplier risks and stable launch performance. This is an opportunity to influence both component design and supplier manufacturing strategy across next-generation electric powertrain programs.
What Youll Own
- Supplier Readiness: Lead industrialization for assigned drive unit and metals suppliers establishing clear readiness milestones and ensuring manufacturing processes tooling equipment capacity and quality systems are prepared for production launch.
- APQP and PPAP: Drive APQP execution and make readiness recommendations using Process Flow Diagrams PFMEAs Control Plans MSA SPC capacity studies Run-at-Rate results Safe Launch Plans and PPAP evidence.
- Manufacturing Risk: Assess supplier capability and manufacturing feasibility during sourcing and development maintain risk assessments and recovery plans and drive open issues to timely closure.
- Design for Manufacturing: Partner with Product Design and Manufacturing Engineering to evaluate manufacturability critical-to-quality characteristics process capability and opportunities to improve cost quality and production robustness.
- Process Validation: Provide technical leadership across high-pressure die casting aluminum and steel castings precision machining forgings heat treatment gears rotor and stator components motor housings drive unit assemblies and structural metal components.
- Supplier Performance: Lead structured root-cause analysis and corrective action for supplier quality delivery and capacity issues including QUAL investigations launch containment and continuous improvement activities.
- Cross-Functional Delivery: Communicate supplier readiness key risks recovery actions and launch decisions to Engineering Manufacturing Global Supply Management Supplier Quality Program Management Operations and leadership.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering Materials Engineering or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience in automotive manufacturing supplier quality supplier development APQP or industrialization.
- Strong working knowledge of APQP PPAP PFMEA MSA SPC AIAG Core Tools Control Plans process audits and Run-at-Rate activities.
- Demonstrated experience supporting automotive product launches and hands-on manufacturing process development and validation.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Engineering or Business.
- Experience with electric vehicle powertrain systems drive units eMotors gearboxes rotor and stator manufacturing castings precision machining or forgings.
- Experience working with global automotive suppliers.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or equivalent certification.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
