Job Summary
SummaryProvide overall leadership for on-site field administration supervision and technical management for all construction operations on assigned project(s) including direct supervision of other project superintendents assistant superintendents foreman subcontractors and other construction related personnel. Directing them in planning coordination and execution of work on time within budget attaining or exceeding profit goals implementing and maintaining zero harm commitment working with the project manager on the overall management of the project promoting and enhancing client relationships and the company image. A senior superintendent is capable of delivering large and complex projects or multiple smaller projects generally with one or more reporting FunctionsThe following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties responsibilities and skills required of personnel so Financial ResponsibilitiesParticipate with the project manager in issuance of monthly progress report monthly payment applications anticipated cost report and other financial cost coordination with the project manager develop general conditions budget and through labor cost reporting manage and control the approve and code subcontractor and vendor payment applications and miscellaneous with the project manager to ensure risk is addressed at the project ServicesAssist preconstruction and project management to develop an initial project schedule and communicate sequence and schedule updates to all subcontractors and or assist in preparing operations related components of proposals and presentations including logistics plans phasing plans project risk assessments quality control plans safety plans construction delivery portions of Start-up and SchedulingDevelop maintain and enforce a project site logistics plan and temporary facilities participate and/or lead post-bid buyout owner/architect/contractor coordination lead team subcontractor staff scheduling and post-mortem and provide feedback on all purchase orders and a qualitative review of all contract documents for potential conflicts or interpretation issues to mitigate Administration Operations and Close-outDevelop implement maintain and enforce a project site specific safety program that achieves an effective implementation of Zero Harm implement maintain and enforce a project specific quality assurance and workmanship program to include all of an OSHA site knowledge of all project plans specifications contract with owner subcontracts purchase orders daily correspondence shop drawings submittals and all other project related documents and maintain a complete and accurate set of and monitor all jobsite control reporting measures including daily reports payroll quantity reporting accident and incident reports emergency action plan erosion and sediment control documentation and timely project completion through project scheduling and pull planning monitoring and expediting of material deliveries and the management of material and document submittals/ for supervision of layout and field engineering in accordance with all project that all requirements of insurance safety labor relations classifications wage rates and Equal Employment Opportunity are identify and solve problems to minimize and execute a plan for monitoring the completion of punch list items and coordinate all required field local labor requirements availability and capability for self-perform the absence of other superintendents being assigned to the project the senior superintendent assumes all duties and responsibilities of the all trade contractors means and methods in accordance with the project contract daily construction activities within existing operating Customer RelationsSupport and implement Balfour Beatty Constructions BAM and MAP processes and effectively represent the company and Leadership and Employee DevelopmentRepresent Balfour Beatty Construction to Owner Subcontractors and all other external stakeholders as project field technical assistance to all members of project leads internal team(s) that focus on continuous improvement of the and mentor subordinates towards successful careers with the the growth and development of client subcontractor and vendor new work opportunities and inform business development and marketing of potential projects with current the team members in developing implementing the 10 success factors for Operational Excellence and other ConditionsThe majority of work is completed on job sites in an office trailer or in an existing structure. Due to daily condition changes on construction projects when employees are outside of the office trailer or structure they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the companys safety policies and as required for weather project team and/or team member may need to move to other projected work geographic locations if Experience and KnowledgeB.S. in Construction Management Engineering Business or a related field preferred and 7 years of experience. Depending upon the project size scope and complexity the years of experience may extensive experience managing trades/ sub-contractors in the field on large high-rise and urban mixed-use success in leading mentoring and supervising multiple Superintendents on a large commercial construction projects from start to mastery of the skills of field management: including managing site activity labor relations anticipation and resolution of field related issues establishment and enforcement of site schedule requirements managing site safety and managing insurance risks. Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership in the companys commitment to Zero Harm knowledgeable of OSHA requirements and current OSHA 30-hour proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools such as email internet and Microsoft products (e.g. Word Excel Office Outlook) Primavera (P6) scheduling software and other computer desktop and web based construction software to help lead a proposal effort when pursuing work to include schedule logistics assist in general conditions solid presentation skills and verbal/written communication commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes and making necessary changes using customer input to make improvements and meeting or exceeding internal and external customer SkillsIncludes extensive experience managing trades/ sub-contractors in the field on large high-rise and urban mixed-use success in leading mentoring and supervising multiple Superintendents on a large commercial construction projects from start to mastery of the skills of field management: including managing site activity labor relations anticipation and resolution of field related issues establishment and enforcement of site schedule requirements managing site safety and managing insurance risks. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and the range may be modified in the future. An employees pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance shift travel requirements any collective bargaining agreements and business or organizational needs. No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus incentive or any other form of compensation that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Companys sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Companys sole discretion consistent with the law and any applicable plan documents.
