Senior Staff Program Manager, Fleet Readiness & Response Process Improvement

Job Summary
Zoox is starting to emerge from its R&D phase and move into commercial operations. The process and strategy team within fleet operations is responsible for identifying and implementing operational improvements that enable us to scale efficiently while maintaining a great rider experience. The process team is looking at everything from how we reduce the number of handoffs between teams in the Fusion Center to how we improve the quality of our responses to how quickly we clean and repair vehicles and get them back on the road and everything in between.
This role will design coordinate document and implement large-scale operational process improvement initiatives for the Mission Readiness program. The Mission Readiness team is responsible for charging cleaning inspecting and performing other similar tasks where vehicle turn times are key. A successful candidate can manage and iterate on an approach to identifying assessing and driving continuous improvements to scale operations. The candidate must be comfortable balancing strategic thinking with tactical detailed execution while working independently sorting through ambiguously defined problems identifying and facing major challenges and adapting to sudden and frequent change.
- Identify operational improvements for the Mission Readiness function that set us up for scale
- Work cross-functionally to intake document and prioritize requests for process changes from a number of partner teams
- Design and document workflows focused on vehicle charging cleaning inspections etc
- Provide bi-weekly status updates to key stakeholders on process improvement initiatives
- Set the vision for the Mission Readiness function and ensure success via metrics like vehicle turnaround time
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Operations Management or a related field
- 8 years of experience in program management operational excellence process improvement or a related field
- Experience in a product-based operations environment
- Prior experience developing and using data and metrics to support strategic decision-making
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive mindset and resourcefulness
- Masters degree in a relevant discipline (Business Administration Engineering Computer Science Program Management etc.)
- Six Sigma Certifications
- PMP PgMP or similar project management certification
- Experience in the autonomous vehicle ride-hail transportation or other relevant mobility industries
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and ideally possessing certifications
