In this position..

  • You will leverage your expertise in labor relations and employee engagement to collaborate with UAW leadership Trust representatives and external partners. You will develop and implement innovative wellness solutions that enhance employee access to support resources drive operational excellence and service effectiveness.
  • More specifically you will be responsible for developing annual ESSP Representative educational conferences with 70 attendees oversee the management of plant fitness centers conduct early intervention training support Employee Support Services Program (ESSP) Representatives and play a key role in supporting national-level collective bargaining activities.
  • In addition you will play a critical role in ensuring health care vendors deliver exceptional value and service to employees by leveraging insights and employee feedback to understand their needs and this role you will help shape the future of our health and wellness programs by evaluating designing and continuously optimizing comprehensive cost-effective solutions that balance business objectives contractual commitments and the evolving needs of employees and their families.


Responsibilities

What youll do...

  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with UAW leadership and ESSP Representatives to provide strategic guidance and support initiatives that improve employee wellness and engagement.
  • Develop and deliver the annual training program for ESSP Representatives by identifying and addressing gaps in training processes and program effectiveness.
  • Administer annual intervention training as contractually required.
  • Support and participate in 2028 collective bargaining activities by providing subject matter expertise data analysis benchmarking cost modeling proposal development and implementation planning related to the healthcare program and wellness programs.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for various programs ensuring program effectiveness compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Provide strategic oversight of vendor relationships and performance establishing service expectations monitoring key performance indicators identifying improvement opportunities and driving optimal employee experience quality and financial outcomes.
  • Investigate and resolve complex employee and stakeholder escalations building strong relationships founded on trust respect and responsiveness to prevent issues from becoming significant concerns.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify engage and coordinate the appropriate cross-functional resources including Labor Affairs Security Medical Office of General Counsel Health Care Operations Purchasing Communications Finance and UAW leadership to address issues and implement solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA plan governance requirements and applicable federal and state regulations through the development maintenance and review Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) Plan Documents and related communications.
  • Develop and draft collective bargaining agreement language related to assigned programs and benefits.
  • Support the development review and delivery of your areas of responsibility for annual enrollment communication materials ensuring employees have clear accurate and timely information regarding available benefits and program changes.
  • Provide strategic analysis and thought leadership by leveraging employee feedback utilization data workforce demographics benchmarking market trends and cost evaluations to develop recommendations that optimize health wellness and support programs and better meet the evolving needs of employees and their families.
  • Apply Lean Principles and continuous improvement methodologies to any benefit changes or issues ensuring we have solved the right problem to drive best-in-class operational performance.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations reports and recommendations that communicate program effectiveness business impact risk considerations and strategic opportunities as required.


Qualifications

Youll have...

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience with a Masters degree or 8 years of work experience with a Bachelors degree preferably in Labor Relations Total Rewards or a related field.
  • Involves occasional (defined as one-third or less of the time) lifting of no more than 10 pounds at a time. Work is performed primarily in a seated position and entails no significant stooping standing climbing walking etc. Many sedentary jobs require good use of the hands and fingers for repetitive hand-finger actions. Working conditions occur within low to moderate noise levels related to the use of standard office or classroom equipment.
  • This role requires minimal domestic travel typically up to once per quarter.

  • Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree (preferred) in Human Resources Organizational Development or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99100-$166200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidates skills and experience and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope responsibility and competitive market value.
