In this role you will own the strategy roadmap and architectural direction for a server platform engineering team of 11 engineers delivering highly scalable mission-critical distributed systems in support of Apples sustainability goals. You will directly lead this team staying technically credible in the underlying code and architecture while driving hiring growth and a culture of technical excellence and accountability. You will be cultivating your teams fluency with agentic and generative AI tooling driving adoption to accelerate delivery velocity and sustain a competitive edge.

Lead hiring onboarding coaching and performance management for the team to build and retain a world-class engineering teamnDefine and communicate team strategy technical roadmap and durable architecture decisions aligned to Apples energy and sustainability missionnMaintain technical credibility across your teams systems engage deeply in architecture reviews and critical technical decisions setting the technical bar without requiring day-to-day involvement in code reviewnChampion a platform mindset building shared services and infrastructure that other Apple teams adopt and rely onnDrive your teams adoption and sustained fluency with agentic and generative AI tooling to accelerate engineering velocitynActively understand and shape how engineers across the organization work with AI serving as a primary driver of AI-enabled workflows across your team and the broader engineering organizationnPartner cross-functionally with product security privacy and compliance stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet the highest standardsnOperate and continuously improve mission-critical production distributed systems ensuring reliability scalability and securitynFoster a team culture grounded in technical excellence psychological safety continuous improvement and shared accountability

Proven track record of building leading and growing high-performing software engineering teams in control of their production environmentn10 years of software engineering experience including 5 years in direct people management responsibility with experience leading a team of comparable size (10 engineers) and accountability for team-wide technical and people outcomesnDeep expertise in designing and operating mission-critical highly scalable distributed systems at production scalenDemonstrated ability to remain technically credible across your teams systems engaging in architecture reviews and technical decisions at a level of depth that earns the trust of senior engineers without requiring hands-on code reviewnExperience with hiring pipelines performance management career development frameworks and building inclusive team culturenStrong background in security compliance and governance practices relevant to enterprise-scale platform servicesnTrack record of influencing cross-functional partners and driving alignment across engineering product and operations organizationsnProficiency with platform-oriented engineering designing services and infrastructure that other teams adopt as foundational building blocksnBS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

nHands-on experience with agentic AI frameworks generative AI tooling or LLM-integrated developer workflows in a production or near-production contextnFamiliarity with energy sustainability or carbon accounting domains including clean energy procurement emissions tracking or supply chain transparency systemsnSkilled in driving organizational AI fluency rolling out AI-assisted development practices evaluating tooling and sustaining adoption over timenExperience operating infrastructure in regulated environments with strict data privacy and compliance requirementsnBackground in building internal developer platforms or shared services adopted broadly across a large engineering organizationnDemonstrated ability to translate ambiguous high-stakes business goals into concrete technical strategy and executable roadmaps
