Senior Software Engineer Serial Data Vehicle Architecture

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren MI or Milford MI three times per week.
What Youll Do
- Lead technical solution development including requirements definition functional decomposition analysis development and testing for current new and major programs.
- Lead software system design activities and software anomaly correction efforts.
- Perform complex design analysis.
- Promote and support common software engineering best practices across the software community.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for at least one platform or application component and backup support for another.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to software development processes methodologies and tools.
- Develop and maintain test tools for serial data CAN communication and ethernet communication across vehicle architectures.
- Design develop and execute performance validation strategies and tests for new and existing software features and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Tier 1 suppliers manufacturing and integration teams to support seamless software integration and deployment.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including design specifications test plans user guides and root cause analysis reports.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Stay current on industry best practices emerging technologies and automotive software trends.
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- At least 5-7 years of experience with hands on Python and/or C#.
- High level experience with Vector / CAPL Scripts.
- Strong experience developing and maintaining software tool chains.
- Strong understanding of serial data requirements and complex vehicle scenarios.
- Ability to translate complex vehicle scenarios into lower-level simulated environments for testing and validation.
- Experience supporting multiple vehicle architectures.
- Ability to lead technical solution development including requirements analysis development and testing.
- Experience with serial data CAN communication.
- Experience with SOMEIP ethernet communication development.
- Experience with automotive cyber security.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Experience creating technical documentation including design specifications user guides and integrating test plans.
- Ability to provide technical leadership serve as a subject matter expert and mentor junior engineers.
- Experience with Ethernet communication protocol debug utilizes tools such as wireshark.
