Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on behalf of our client in Rockville MD OR Tyson VA (Hybrid 3 days onsite per week).

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to design develop and support scalable backend systems and cloud-native applications within a fast-paced financial services environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on development experience deep expertise in modern backend architectures and the ability to contribute across full-stack components in an Agile delivery model.

• Design develop and maintain scalable backend services and microservices-based architectures
• Build and enhance cloud-native applications with a focus on performance reliability and scalability
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs across enterprise systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality solutions
• Support application deployment monitoring and production stability in cloud environments
• Work closely with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD pipelines and automation processes
• Contribute to UI and full-stack development where needed (Angular/)
• Participate in code reviews design discussions and architectural decisions
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis

• Strong hands-on experience in Java development with Spring Boot
• Proven experience building microservices-based scalable backend systems
• Strong working knowledge of AWS cloud services and cloud-native deployments
• Expertise in RESTful APIs and distributed system design
• Experience with Angular and
• Exposure to CMS integration and enterprise platform support
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with AI/LLM concepts is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to perform live coding and debugging

• 7 18 years of professional software development experience
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on Java development experience
• Recent experience in the Financial Services domain is required
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in Agile environments
• Must be available for in-person interview in Rockville MD
• Preference for candidates based in the DMV region
