As a Senior Frontend Engineer on the Sales Engineering team

you will be a core contributor to the applications that power Scouts sales and operational workflows. You will build intuitive scalable and efficient user experiences for the systems that support order management customer operations fulfillment finance and other critical business functions throughout the vehicle purchase lifecycle.

You will work closely with product design and backend engineers to ship experiences that customers trust with high-stakes decisions. You will take real ownership of features from design through delivery contribute meaningfully to technical decisions within the team and help raise the bar on frontend craft across the codebase.

This role is ideal for an engineer who writes thoughtful production-quality code values usability and maintainability and enjoys solving complex workflow and operational challenges. Youll have opportunities to modernize internal platforms improve business processes through technology and deepen your expertise in a complex high-impact transactional domain.

• Build and maintain polished performant customer-facing frontend features writing clean well-tested code that your teammates can rely on and extend.
• Implement UI components and application logic that are correct accessible and consistent with our design system translating design intent into high-fidelity maintainable code.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features from scoping and technical design through implementation testing and monitoring in production.
• Integrate frontend experiences with backend APIs and third-party services handling loading states error conditions and edge cases thoughtfully.
• Contribute to frontend performance work: improving Core Web Vitals reducing bundle size and ensuring the UI holds up under real-world network and device conditions.
• Participate actively in code and design reviews sharing knowledge and helping maintain a high quality bar across the team.
• Contribute to the shared component library and design system helping keep it consistent accessible and easy for others to use.
• Collaborate with product managers designers and engineers to understand requirements and ship solutions that genuinely serve customers.
• Treat accessibility as a core part of the job building inclusive experiences by default rather than as a retrofit.
• Use AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully to increase velocity and share effective practices with the team.

Location & Travel Expectations:

• This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location inFremont California.
• This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and events.
• Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the companyfrom time to time.

• Education/Certifications: A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• 5 years of frontend engineering experience with a track record of shipping production features end-to-end.
• Deep expertise with popular tools/frameworks and libraries such as React NodeJS GSAP etc. along with knowledge of their ecosystem and best practices is required. Experience with a mobile app development framework like React Native is a huge plus.
• Experience in identifying mitigating and preventing common web application security vulnerabilities and strong command of security best practices secure coding principles and integrating security into the development lifecycle is required.
• Expertise in micro-frontend architecture and its practical application in large-scale systems.
• Proven ability to drive the architectural direction for large-scale front-end systems with extensive experience building complex applications that consume CRUD operations in GraphQL RESTful and/or RPC APIs ensuring long-term scalability maintainability and performance.
• Deep knowledge of UI/UX design principles responsive/mobile-first design SEO accessibility (WCAG) and performance optimization.
• Exposure to analytics experimentation platforms and feature flagging tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a passion for finding elegant solutions to complex challenges

Nice to have

• Experience building AI/ML platform foundations or developer AI tooling.
• Experience in automotive mobility retail ecommerce or digital consumer products.
• Experience building multi-tenant platforms and shared enterprise services.
• ExperiencewithFull-stack engineering experience-micro frontend architecture andmobile platform foundations (iOS Android React Native).

This is a full-time exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidates skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range $140000.00 - $170000.00

Initial California base salary range $154000 - $187000
