Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for engineers to join our US Navy emerging technologies foundational software team. Are you an Electrical or Software Engineer looking to be part of something that is truly groundbreaking We are in search of an engineer with 6 years experience beyond a Masters degree or 8 years beyond a Bachelors degree to set up the software plans and systems for a future long term project that will stand up during your tenure in the role. Amentum is the next generation of high-speed technology leadership to protect our nation and the environments needed to support them. We need you to join us on the ground floor of some of the latest programs.

Responsibilities:

To create the planning setup software structure and development environment for future coding and defect resolution using an Agile process for a complex component of this weapon system using the software development life and test cycle.

To set up structures for how to measure the computer processing time usage and come up with better methods of disk space utilization network loading and throughout.

To plan the future design environment for coding and maintenance of software support tools and models.

Primary work location will be in Fredericksburg VA or Dahlgren Va with occasional telecommute or travel opportunities. We are fun collaborative supportive and our goal is to to find great people who want to stay hands on in development yet have input in process improvements. We work hand in hand with the government customers on integrated teams. Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree (in one of these: Electrical Engineering Computer Engineer Electronics Engineering and Software Engineering) with 8-10 or more years of experience.

• A masters degree in electrical engineering Computer Engineering Electronics Engineering Software Engineering Mathematics Computer Science or Physics with 6 years of experience can also qualify.

• Comprehensive knowledge in definition and management of software requirements design code benchmark testing debugging software development lifecycle architecture and documentation. Plans performs and lead software design coding and testing.

• Experience in an Agile software development environment and methodologies

• Two years of program/project level experience of software design and:

• Two years of experience working with software design and development teams;

• Atlassian tool suites Jira (for issue tracking) and Confluence (decision tracking);

• Source code tracking tools (i.e. Git Bitbucket)

Experience:

2-4 years (Required)

C or C# familiarity (Preferred)

Ability to Commute: to Fredericksburg VA or Dahlgren VA (1 hour south of Washington D.C.)

• $110000 - $13000 per year depending on years of experience and additional degrees

Schedule:

Monday to Friday no weekend work someday travel to Washington D.C a couple times a month.
