Here youll do more than join something youll add Services team under Retail and Marcom Engineering (ISu0026T) builds the platform that connects Apples online and retail experiences with wireless carriers enabling customers to activate devices select plans and complete purchases. Our services support millions of customer transactions and integrate with major carriers worldwide.

As a Software Engineer on the Carrier Services team youll build and support the backend services that power device activation and carrier experiences across Apples online and retail channels. Youll work across the full development lifecycle from design and implementation to testing release and production support. Working closely with carrier partners and cross-functional teams youll help deliver reliable seamless experiences for customers around the Youll Be DoingnnYoull design develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that support order management pricing and device activation. Youll work with engineering QA product and carrier partners to solve complex problems improve service performance and reliability and troubleshoot issues in production. Youll also contribute to technical design discussions review code and help strengthen engineering practices across the team.

Design and build scalable backend services and APIs that support device activation plan selection pricing and order management with major carriersnnDevelop test and deploy high-quality features across the full lifecycle from technical design through release and production supportnnIntegrate with carrier systems and internal Apple platforms translating carrier requirements into reliable well-documented solutionsnnTroubleshoot and resolve production issues using logs and monitoring to find root causes and prevent them from recurringnnImprove the performance reliability and maintainability of existing services including order pricing and fulfillment flowsnnCollaborate with product managers QA engineers program managers and carrier partners to define requirements and deliver on schedulennReview code and contribute to design discussions helping set engineering standards and mentor teammatesnnWrite and maintain automated tests documentation and runbooks so services stay easy to operate and support

5 years proven experience developing software in a professional capacitynn2 years proven experience with Java including proficiency in concurrency memory management and performance optimization techniquesnnExperience building production applications with the Spring ecosystem (e.g. Spring Boot Spring MVC Spring Security Spring Data Spring Cloud etc.) including proficiency in dependency injection auto-configuration reactive programming with WebFlux and designing microservices using Spring-based patternsnnExperience in API design and implementation including proficiency in RESTful API principles gRPC GraphQL contract-first design (e.g. OpenAPI/Swagger Protobuf etc.) API versioning strategies gateway patterns rate limiting and designing APIs for backward compatibility and long-term evolutionnnExperience with message-driven and event-driven architectures including proficiency in messaging systems (e.g. Kafka RabbitMQ ActiveMQ etc.) event sourcing CQRS patterns and designing reliable asynchronous communication between distributed servicesnnB.S. in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent professional work experiencen
