Position Summary:
This positionis responsible forthe developmentmaintenanceand conformance of quality plans and quality specifications for new and existing products. Performs multiple assignments of moderate to complex scope with minimal guidance fromsupervisorand other technical evaluates selects and applies standard quality engineering techniques procedures and criteria to manage product and process health. Independentlydevelopsclear and specificobjectivesfor given assignments that may require the investigation of several alternative quality solutions. Effectivelyparticipatesin a team setting to achieve leads moderate to large projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and implement product quality assurance plans and specifications.
Assess compliance of control plans tostatequality goals and initiate correctiveactionas necessary.
Design andacquiregauges measurement systems and data collection systems.
Provide training in product quality requirements process control tools statistical methods gage design and problem solving toappropriate personnel.
Issue ormodifyquality related documents viaDCNsystem.
Provide feedback and approval of documents including technical bulletins test procedures test data analyses preliminary catalog information and manufacturing drawings.
Conduct and report the results of internal process audits.
Drive process improvements to reduce the risk of external escapes. Engage production to proactivelyidentifyquality risks and drive improvements
Assistindevelopmentof Servicegroupproduct family plans.
Lead and/or participate in PQP events. This includes defining customer requirements completing SDAs and conductingDMAs.
Train others inthe useofPQPtoolbox.
Work with Project and Manufacturing personnel to ensure the smooth implementation of process development workintoValue Stream operations.
AttendingPQP CoP meetings.
Act as a resource to evaluate nonconforming material conditions and provideapprovalrecommendation.
Assess key performance indicators toidentifyopportunities for improvement andinitiatedisciplined problem solving.
Follow-upon corrective action responses and ensure implementation ofappropriate problemresolution methods and verify effectiveness.
Assistinternal suppliers as necessary to resolve production problems.
Evaluate customer requests for information (e.g. capability studies state of compliancetopotential customer specifications) and prepare formal responses.
Coordinate and analyze gauge R&Rs.
Participate in department meetings to provide input into the design and implementation of product quality planning systems andprocedures
Review testing parameters and process sample size calculations forappropriate functionalrequirements.
Assistinternal and external suppliers as necessary to resolve production problems.
Provide reliability analysis and Weibull data calculations for project and product related issues.
Provide input into project contracts.
Develop and execute measurement systems for new products. Includes the coordination and analysis of gauge R&Rs.
Complete necessary documentation to qualifyappropriate suppliersas Ship-to-Stock.
Responsible forentirevalidation phase of new product development.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
Four-yeardegree in Technical Field.
Maintain on-going education in related areas
General knowledge of quality planning and control.
Ability to solve complex problems and complete multiple projects.
Usesadvanced problem-solving methods to make decisions.
Applies proven technology independently.
Strong oral and written communication including presentation and facilitation skills.
Strong computer skills including data evaluation and statistical process analysis.
Excellent time management skills.
Preferred:
BS in Engineering or Quality related field preferred.
Manufacturing experience and advanced (DOE Six Sigma) problem-solving skills preferred.
