University Partners is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Property Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role is ideal for an experienced real estate accounting professional who enjoys full-cycle property accounting financial reporting process improvement and working in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

The Senior Property Accountant will assist the Controller with the accounting management of assigned student housing properties ensuring property-level financial information and financial statements are prepared accurately and on time. • Perform full-cycle accounting for assigned student housing properties.
• Review accounts payable journal entries monthly accruals amortizations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage accounting responsibilities for multiple student housing properties within the company portfolio.
• Respond to Property Manager questions regarding monthly charges invoice coding and month-end reporting.
• Assist with preparation of annual property budgets.
• Review monthly charges Gross Potential Rent reports and other accounts receivable balances.
• Calculate monthly property management fees and process related payments.
• Prepare month-end reporting packages.
• Review and analyze budget-to-actual variances.
• Prepare annual work papers and reconciliations for year-end tax returns and external audits.
• Assist the Property Accounting Manager Vice President and Controller with cash flow analyses and other accounting projects as needed.
• Identify areas for process improvement and help increase accounting efficiencies.

• Bachelors degree in Accounting required.
• 3 years of real estate property-level accrual basis accounting experience required.
• Student housing or multifamily property accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
• Experience with Entrata MRI and/or Yardi accounting software preferred.
• Prior experience analyzing accounting processes and improving efficiencies.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems and processes.
