We have an exciting opportunity in our Environment and Resource Recovery team for a dynamic Senior Project Officer (Resource Recovery) who is responsible for the implementation of resource recovery focused strategies and actions including waste and resource recovery littering and illegal dumping.
Reporting to the Coordinator Resource Recovery this role will also oversee the management of grant funding opportunities such as resource grants monitor grant outcomes budgets and manage interim and final reporting requirements.
The successful applicant will require:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Waste Management Environmental Science Environmental Management Environmental Health Sustainable Development or a related field
- Professional experience working in the resource recovery (waste) or in a related field
- Understanding of expectations to manage teams in a fast paced environment
- Demonstrated high level analytical problem solving and decision making skills
- Demonstrated high level customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated high level time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work productively as a member of a team and contribute to team goals
- Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders in a politically sensitive environment
- Highly advanced written communication verbal communication interpersonal and computer literacy skills
- Sound knowledge of NSW waste and resource recovery related policy and legislation
- Sound knowledge of NSW waste and resource recovery related policy and legislation
- Class C drivers licence
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

About this role:
- Permanent full-time
- 70 hour fortnight
- Access to Councils 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO)
- Located at Councils Auburn office with frequent travel required across Council worksites and may be required to work across any of Councils work locations
Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 12 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1899.71 to $2184.67 per week plus 12% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated taking into consideration the successful applicants qualifications skills and experience related to the role
