Senior Project Engineer (California PE)

Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Project Engineer - Asset Advisory to lead the execution delivery and growth of comprehensive Asset Management and Asset Advisory programs. This role combines engineering expertise program leadership client consulting and capital planning strategy to help organizations make informed decisions regarding facility investments infrastructure renewal lifecycle management deferred maintenance energy performance and portfolio optimization.

The Senior Project Engineer will lead multidisciplinary project teams and serve as the key bridge between client-facing teams and technical operations. The ideal candidate brings a balance of technical leadership client consulting engineering judgment and program delivery expertise.

As the senior technical leader for assigned programs this individual provides engineering oversight quality assurance mentoring and strategic guidance across teams performing facility condition assessments capital planning studies energy evaluations ADA assessments and asset advisory services.

This role requires a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of California and is a remote position with regional travel. Candidates must reside in California or a Western state adjacent to California.

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of Asset Management and Asset Advisory programs for key clients in education government industrial healthcare and commercial sectors.
• Oversee and mentor a cross-functional team of Engineers Architects Certified Energy Managers Building Analysts and Assessment Professionals conducting facility condition assessments lifecycle cost analyses equipment inventories and ADA evaluations.
• Serve as the engineering subject matter expert for facility assessments building systems evaluations infrastructure assessments energy performance reviews and capital planning initiatives.
• Ensure assessment teams collect verify and interpret facility infrastructure and building systems datatranslating field observations into actionable capital planning strategies and investment recommendations.
• Evaluate building systems including mechanical electrical plumbing structural site infrastructure and related assets to identify deficiencies risks deferred maintenance and capital investment requirements.
• Review facility assessment findings and provide professional engineering recommendations regarding asset condition operational performance lifecycle costs and long-term capital planning strategies.
• Review and enhance technical reports ensuring deliverables are accurate actionable consistent and aligned with client goals.
• Collaborate with Sales in identifying new opportunities developing proposals and defining client-specific program objectives.
• Serve as the primary client advisor translating technical findings into practical business recommendations and long-term asset management strategies.
• Identify process improvement opportunities drive standardization across reporting and workflows and champion quality control across all program activities.
• Participate in industry events present client results and contribute to thought leadership in the Asset Management and Asset Advisory space.
• Be willing and able to perform the duties of a Senior Project Assessor when needed including field assessments report writing technical reviews and client presentations.
• Mentor engineers building analysts energy professionals and assessment staff while promoting technical excellence and consistency across program delivery.

1. Establishes maintains and enforces program standards technical methodologies quality expectations and reporting procedures across all assigned programs.
2. Serves as the main point-of-contact with clients during the execution of projects and programs.
3. Prepares progress reports and communicates program status to clients and internal stakeholders.
4. Assures client satisfaction and goals are achieved through timely responsiveness technical expertise and proactive communication.
5. Attends meetings with Sales teams and clients to support business development and program delivery.
6. Facilitates communication across work streams and projects to minimize disruption to program implementation.
7. Responsible for managing programs within budget and on schedule while maintaining high client satisfaction.
8. Manages project budgets risks change orders client communication and report delivery.
9. Manages field staff and staff scheduling.
10. Participates in the development of new service offerings and technical solutions.
11. Creates and develops report templates and standardized deliverables.
12. Responsible for proposal development and project-specific scopes of work.
13. Directly interfaces with Sales staff to ensure client expectations are clearly understood and achieved.
14. Serves as a consultative resource for clients and may participate in sales calls presentations and strategic planning discussions.
15. Performs technical reviews of deliverables for accuracy scope compliance consistency and quality.
16. Reviews and evaluates work progress identifies challenges and provides technical direction to assigned staff.
17. Acts as the senior engineering technical lead providing guidance mentorship and technical direction to engineers building analysts energy professionals and field assessment teams.
18. Supports recruiting activities through resume review phone screens interviews and candidate selection.
19. Complies with federal state and local legal requirements and industry standards.

The Senior Project Engineer directs Lead and Senior Project Assessors within the Asset Management Division on specific programs by ensuring clear scopes are understood projects occur on schedule issues are resolved efficiently and technical decisions are made in alignment with client objectives and company standards.

Education and/or Experience:

• • Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in engineering facility assessments capital planning asset management infrastructure consulting or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of program management project leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing or managing Facility Condition Assessments (FCA) Property Condition Assessments (PCA) capital planning studies or asset management programs.
  • Experience in Asset Advisory Services lifecycle cost analysis cost modeling and infrastructure investment planning.
  • Strong understanding of building systems infrastructure assets facility operations and maintenance practices.
  • Experience working with public sector higher education healthcare industrial or commercial real estate portfolios preferred.
  • Consultative mindset with the ability to guide clients through complex facility portfolio and capital planning decisions.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and lead teams effectively.

Required:

• Current California Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing.
• Valid drivers license with no significant MVA points or violations.

Travel by Plane Motor Vehicle Train (approx. 40% of time) to client/project sites across the U.S. required.

While performing the onsite/field duties the employee is required to:
