Position Overview
An established consumer products company is seeking a Senior Product Sourcing & Development Manager to lead the end-to-end sourcing and development of battery-powered consumer products. This is a highly strategic and hands-on role responsible for identifying new products sourcing world-class manufacturing partners driving product innovation and bringing new products from concept through commercialization.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and has deep experience sourcing consumer products throughout Asia while managing the full product lifecycle.
The Ideal Candidate
- 7 years of product sourcing and product development experience
- Experience sourcing consumer products from China and other Asian manufacturers
- Strong vendor negotiation and supplier management skills
- Proven ability to identify new product opportunities and market trends
- Experience managing products from concept through production
- Analytical commercially minded and highly organized
- Comfortable traveling internationally several times per year
- Mandarin language skills are a strong plus
- Engineering or technical background preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Source and develop new battery-powered consumer products
- Build relationships with global manufacturing partners
- Negotiate pricing tooling MOQs production timelines and quality standards
- Identify market opportunities and recommend new product launches
- Manage the complete product development lifecycle
- Partner with engineering design packaging sales and sourcing teams
- Monitor competitive products pricing and consumer trends
- Improve supplier performance costs and operational efficiencies
- Travel internationally to factories and supplier meetings (approximately 2x year)
