Senior Product Design Engineer

SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGN ENGINEER (Permanent)
Our client a global manufacturing organization in WNY is looking to hire a Senior Product Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is a newly created position due to growth.

Responsibilities:

• Lead endtoend new product development initiatives from concept and modeling through prototyping testing and final production
  
• Partner with manufacturing quality and crossfunctional engineering teams to ensure designs are practical costefficient and ready for production
  
• Create comprehensive technical specifications including material selection tolerances manufacturing processes and assembly requirements
  
• Utilize CAD tools (SolidWorks AutoCAD or Rhino) to develop 3D product models technical drawings and prototypes
  
• Perform product testing performance analysis and validation to ensure compliance with safety quality and customer specifications
  
• Drive design improvements focused on manufacturability durability cost optimization longterm performance and environmental sustainability
  
• Contribute to APQP and continuous improvement efforts including PFMEA control plans and PPAP documentation when applicable
  
• Review technical designs and mentor junior engineers
  
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies materials and industry best practices in product and manufacturing engineering
  
• Work well both independently and in a team environment
  
• Work on several projects at a given timeanywhere from 1-5 depending on complexity
  
• Other duties as assigned/as necessary
  

Details:

• Position is full-time direct hire 1^st shift
  
• 100% in-office
  
• $85000 - $125000 annually depending on experience

• Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  
• 4 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  
• Proficient computer skills: CAD MSOffice (Excel Word Outlook)
  
• Experience with APQP tools: DFMEA PFMEA PPAP etc.
  
• Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  
• Strong organization skills and time management skills
  
• Strong attention to detail
  
• Self-motivated
