We are seeking ahands-onSenior Principal Applied AI-Software Engineer whoexcelsat buildingcompellingtestand measurementsolutionsin AI softwareturning ambiguous ideas intoreality.

You will directlyimpactNigel our AI-native platform for Test & Measurement as well as the core services that give Nigel its capabilities. Nigel is used by scientists and engineers to conduct experiments design products andvalidatemission-critical systems.

This role is ideal for a seasoned technologist who wants to shape how AI fundamentallyreshapesscientific and engineering workflows.

IN THIS ROLE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:

• Identifyand prototypeemerging technologiesand evaluate wherethey deliver clear value to our customers
• Tackle the most critical technical challenges at any given time
• Flexiblyand directlycontribute across the stack as needed using the latest AI tools
• Rapidly prototype AI-enabled features iterating from concept demo product
• Championand evangelizeAI-nativesoftwaredevelopmentCI/CD DevOps observability andIaC
• Partner across teams toturnworking concepts into production-ready systems
• Align teams and leadership around new technical directions

FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:

• Bachelors ormasters degree in computer science Engineering or related field

• 10 years of professional software development experiencecommensurate with the level of this role

• 5 years of technical leadership making high-stakes architectural decisionscommensuratewith the level of this role

• Deep hands-on experiencewithAIcodingagents( Copilot Claude Code CodexAntigravityCursor)

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence technical strategy across teams and levels

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

• Experience with a variety of programming languages (e.g.C/C Python)
• Frontend experience ( React)
• Experience integrating AIinto systems and workflows ( engineering RAG fine tuning agentic harnesses tool use MCP servers etc.)
• Experience in test & measurement maker communities or engineering domains beyond software
