Senior Paralegal

About the Role:

A leading real estate investment asset management and property management organization is seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to join its growing in-house legal team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organized and detail-oriented legal professional to work closely with executive leadership and provide critical support across corporate governance real estate transactions litigation management employment matters commercial contracting and regulatory compliance.

Reporting directly to the General Counsel the Senior Paralegal will play a key role in supporting a diverse portfolio of businesses and assets including real estate operations hospitality ventures marinas and other commercial enterprises. The ideal candidate will possess strong corporate governance experience a solid understanding of California business entities real estate transactions litigation procedures and employment-related matters along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain corporate records entity files minute books and governance documentation for corporations limited liability companies and partnerships.
  • Prepare written consents corporate resolutions organizational documents and other governance-related materials.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with entity formation restructuring ownership transfers and ongoing corporate maintenance.
  • Support real estate transactions including acquisitions financings leases property management agreements due diligence reviews and transaction closings.
  • Review summarize and assist with drafting commercial contracts leases agreements and transactional documents.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders on litigation arbitrations mediations and dispute resolution matters.
  • Manage discovery processes including document collection retention review production and Bates labeling.
  • Assist with subpoena responses investigations and litigation-related projects.
  • Draft and update employment agreements employee acknowledgments and human resources documentation.
  • Support labor law compliance initiatives and internal audits.
  • Assist with drafting and updating operational policies procedures and standard operating procedures.
  • Track and maintain permits licenses registrations and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and prepare summaries for internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct legal and business research on a variety of issues affecting the organization.
  • Manage legal department calendars deadlines projects and workflows.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical legal records and document management systems.
  • Review invoices track legal budgets and assist with legal spend management.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and support the continued growth and efficiency of the legal department.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies Bachelors Degree in Paralegal Studies Legal Studies Business or a related field or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a paralegal role preferably within a large law firm or sophisticated in-house legal department.
  • Extensive experience supporting corporate governance matters involving corporations LLCs and partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of California corporate and business entity laws and governance requirements.
  • Experience supporting commercial real estate transactions and related legal matters.
  • Litigation experience including discovery management and coordination with outside counsel.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology procedures and business operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook SharePoint Adobe Acrobat Pro and legal technology platforms.
  • Experience conducting online legal research and utilizing legal databases.
  • Exceptional organizational analytical written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • High level of accuracy attention to detail and professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new subject matters.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
