About The Role
- Design and develop neutral beam injection systems including ion sources beam optics vacuum system and beam dumps
- Design high-voltage components (100 kV1 MV class systems)
- Develop thermal management solutions for high-power-density components
- Collaborate with physicists to integrate beam line components in the NB injector
- Prototyping testing and commissioning of beamline systems
About You
- Bachelors degree in design/mechanical engineering or related field
- Experience with one or more:
- Charged particle beam systems
- Plasma sources (especially ion sources)
- High-voltage engineering
- Vacuum systems
- Good knowledge of Solid Works or Catia
- Familiarity with simulation tools:
- COMSOL Multiphysics ANSYS or similar
- 5-10 years professional experience in an engineering role (design analysis test or manufacturing)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with neutral beam injection systems or fusion devices
- Knowledge of:
- RF ion sources or negative ion generation
- High power flux dumps
- Magnetic confinement systems (tokamaks stellarators)
- Hands-on experience with:
- High-power test systems
- Diagnostics (Langmuir probes spectroscopy beam diagnostics)
- High voltage systems
At TAE Technologies we consider a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and job-related knowledge training; licenses and certifications and other business and organizational needs. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements depending on the position offered (non-Sr. Sr.). The compensation range for these roles are $135000 - $160000.
