Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Networking Technician to support high-profile and complex infrastructure projects for Fortune 100 hyperscale customers. This role is ideal for a seasoned field engineer who is ready to step into a senior-level positionleading onsite delivery mentoring junior team members and ensuring exceptional execution across enterprise retail and data center environments. This position requires extensive travel strong technical expertise and a commitment to high-quality work.


Position Summary:

The Senior Networking Technician will take the lead on field deployments structured cabling work rack-and-stack projects wireless installations documentation updates and cross-functional coordination with engineering and delivery teams. This role offers the opportunity to build advanced technical skills while contributing to process improvements and team development.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead infrastructure projects across data centers enterprise environments and retail locations
  • Pull and terminate Cat6/6a and various fiber structured cabling systems
  • Rack and stack network devices; decommission old hardware and patching
  • Deploy fully built racks into data centers including installation of cross-connect cabling
  • Install and test Wireless Access Points; terminate and dress cabling to high standards
  • Collaborate with local partners or internal field engineers on complex assignments
  • Mentor and train junior field engineers to support team development
  • Ensure customer standards and internal standards are consistently met and exceeded
  • Provide lessons learned and feedback to improve overall execution quality
  • Submit redline documentation updates and ensure accuracy for engineering review
  • Deliver accurate As-Built documentation for final customer turnover
  • Maintain professional communication with internal teams and customers
  • Review upcoming project scopes and BOMs; identify gaps and escalate when needed
  • Demonstrate eagerness to expand knowledge in routing switching WiFi firewalls compute storage AV and power
  • Travel regularly to customer sites (up to 100% travel required)
  • Represent the organization with professionalism and strong customer-facing skills


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of field experience deploying infrastructure projects for large enterprise customers (VAR or SI experience preferred)
  • Cabling certifications desirable (CNCI BTEC City & Guilds BICSI)
  • Proficient with copper and fiber testing tools: OTDR Fluke network analyzers wire map
  • Strong ability to read and interpret MOPs cable run lists patch plans and schematics
  • Experience with installation maintenance and troubleshooting of infrastructure components in mission-critical environments
  • Ability to analyze wireless survey results (Ekahau Airmagnet Hamina) and recommend corrections
  • Experience with logical network configuration including firmware installation configuration pushes CLI/GUI troubleshooting (Arista Cisco Fortinet Palo Alto)
  • Excellent communication organizational skills and professionalism
  • Self-motivated disciplined and able to deliver projects to industry-leading standards
  • Strong customer-facing and hands-on technical skills
  • CCNA/CWNA or equivalent knowledge strongly preferred
